Instructor-led American Heart Association BLS Provider classroom training for healthcare professionals and healthcare students. Practise adult, child and infant CPR, AED use, ventilation, choking management and team-based BLS with instructor feedback. Held at ALSAA Sports Complex near Dublin Airport, from 10:30 am to approximately 2:30 pm. Fee: €145 per person. Successful participants receive an official AHA BLS Provider eCard, valid for two years.

Course Details

BLS Provider Classroom Course for Healthcare Professionals

Develop and refresh the practical skills needed to recognise cardiac arrest and deliver effective basic life support. This instructor-led American Heart Association BLS Provider course combines classroom teaching, hands-on practice and assessment.

Course at a glance

• Fee: €145 per person.
• Time: 10:30 am to approximately 2:30 pm.
• Venue: ALSAA Sports Complex, near Dublin Airport, with free parking.
• Format: Face-to-face classroom teaching and practical skills training.
• Preparation: This is the full classroom course; a separate HeartCode online course is not required.

What you will learn

• Recognition of cardiac arrest and activation of emergency help.
• High-quality adult, child and infant CPR.
• Single-rescuer and team-based BLS.
• Safe and effective use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
• Rescue breathing and ventilation using a pocket mask and bag-mask device.
• Recognition and management of choking in adults, children and infants.
• Effective communication and coordination during resuscitation.
• The Chain of Survival and the importance of early intervention.

Practical training and assessment

Participants practise with CPR manikins, AED trainers and ventilation equipment. Instructors provide feedback and opportunities to improve performance before the required AHA skills and knowledge assessments.

Who is it for?

Healthcare professionals and healthcare students requiring BLS Provider certification or renewal.

Certification

Following successful completion of the required assessments, participants receive an official American Heart Association BLS Provider eCard, valid for two years.

On selected dates, you can book our combined BLS & Anaphylaxis Management course for €195 per person. Please note that the combined course starts at 10:00 am, rather than the usual 10:30 am BLS start time, and finishes at approximately 4:30 pm. Both courses are completed on the same day.
